Lost and Found

A number of items have accumulated in our Lost and Found.  These items are now on display in the front hallway of the school.  Please encourage your child to look at these tables for any items that he/she may have misplaced.  We will do the same!  Any items that remain on June 29th will be donated to charity.

Lunch Supervisors Wanted

We are looking for lunch supervisors for 2016-2017.  We have both full time (one hour every day) and part time (one hour four or less days per week) positions. Please call the school office at 204-889-9356 if you are interested. Hours are from 11:50 AM to 12:50 PM at a rate of about $12.45/hour.

Final Report Cards

Report cards will be distributed on the last day of classes, Wednesday, June 29th, just before dismissal at 3:40 p.m. (11:50 a.m. for K-AM students).   If you know your child will be absent on the last day, you may choose one of the following options:

 a)   Send us a self-addressed, stamped ($ 1.80), 10” x 13” envelope & we’ll mail it to you. 

b) Have us hold the report card until school re-opens on August 18th. 

c) Send a letter to the school giving written permission for us to release your child’s  report card to another specific person who can pick it up after 3:40 p.m. on June 29th.

Raffle Ticket Sales

Parent Council will be at school during lunch hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week to sell tickets for the raffle prizes.  Ticket prices are as follows:

Dismissal on Thursday

This Thursday is Parent Council's annual BBQ.  The BBQ is scheduled from 4:00-6:00 and all families are invited to attend.  Please remember that students need to attend the BBQ with their families as no supervision is provided.  Students will be dismissed at 3:40 and follow their usual routine on this date; bus students will ride the bus home and day care students will go to day care.  If your child is a bus student and you plan to meet him/her at the school at 3:40, please advise the office in advance to assist with our end of day bus loading procedure.  Thank you for your help!

Parent Council AGM

Linwood School's Annual Establishment meeting will be held Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 6:30 PM in the staff room.  A Parent Council or and Advisory Council for school leadership will be established.  If a Parent Council is established, a Parent Council meeting will follow.  Nominations for the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Social Media Liaison will be tabled at that time.  Please mark your calendars and plan to attend - all families are welcome.  A reminder will be sent out in the fall.

Teaching Staff 2016-2017

June is always bitter sweet as we say goodbye to some staff and welcome others to our school.

We say farewell to Mrs. du Plessis who will be taking maternity leave next year and wish her health and happiness as she begins this new chapter of her life.  We would like to thank Ms. D'Eon for her contributions to Linwood this year and wish her all the best in future endeavors.   
Many families will remember Mrs. Stevenson, who will be returning in September from maternity leave.  We also welcome Mr. Garrett Young to our teaching team.  Mr. Young was a Teacher Candidate at Linwood a few years ago and has been teaching in rural Manitoba for two years.  Both teachers are looking forward to being back at Linwood in September.

Ms. Versteeg will also return to Linwood in September as our music teacher until December.  After the Winter Break Mrs. Wurch will return from her maternity leave.
