Plastic Bag Round Up Challenge!

From now until Wednesday, October 29th, Linwood School will be collecting plastic bags as part of this challenge.  A detailed list of acceptable items is found below.  Please bundle your items and bring them to school.  The Giving Tree Club will be working together to organize this event- students who would like to get involved will hear more information on upcoming morning announcements.  Let's do our part to help!


  
  

MMSM Bag Up Manitoba -- Plastic Bag Roundup Challenge, a program of Take Pride Winnipeg! Inc.

Since the fall of 2008, elementary schools in Manitoba have collected over FOUR MILLION plastic bags for recycling into free Frisbees, bird houses, and benches for their schools. This year, the participation prize is a garden box, made from recycled plastic, from TREX!
Inspire your students to do more to reduce their waste and consider reusing, recycling and remanufacturing options! This challenge is open to elementary schools across Manitoba.
The goal of this challenge is to inspire students to do more to reduce their waste and consider reusing, recycling and remanufacturing options. Students are asked to collect as many plastic shopping bags as possible and bring them to their school for recycling.

grocery bags
retail bags
newspaper sleeves
produce bags
bread bags
ice bags
bubble wrap
case over wrap
pellet bags
salt bags
dry cleaning bags
re-sealable food bags
cereal bags
