Going to the Olympics!

Every February schools celebrate "I Love to Read" month.  This year at Linwood, we are celebrating with an Olympics theme.  We are doing a special school wide Read-A-Thon.  We are tracking how many minutes we read each day and awarding medals for progress.  So far we have all earned gold every day!

Today we were lucky enough to have two guest readers.  Canadian Olympian Susan Auch was here with us this morning.  She showed us the torch she carried in the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Olympics and she let Ms. Palsson hold the bronze and silver medals she earned speed skating.

Finally, this afternoon we had Mr. Ross, who is our school division's Physical Education coordinator, come to read to our primary classes.  He dazzled us with his reading and with his dance moves!
